I don’t remember what I was exactly While researching that day, when I read about this picture of Farrah Fawcett in a red swimming costume to be the world’s best-selling poster with more than 12 000 000 copies.
With the tremendous amount of images on the internet singular pictures are shown multiple times within hours. Images of blonde women seem to get the most likes, Billie Eilish had over 120 million likes on 1 July 2021.
How can one measure that for liking the poster of Farrah Fawcett on a wall?
The relation of images that became icons has undergone an exciting shift as the production, distribution and viewing of images has been transformed by the universally accessible internet since 1976.

That day mentioned, I had the intention to buy a copy of this old and original swimming costume poster online. Then I wondered what a vintage pin-up poster above my desk would do for me.
As an appropriation that would not only be a personal but also an artistic one, I came up with a form that would reflect the relationship between print products like the poster, the availability of images on the internet: Painting the cover motifs of my own books on an oversized print.
